Scouting for Food - Get door hangers at March 14 & 21 Troop Meetings

Posted on Mar 6 2017 - 7:39am
Our Troop is registered to participate in the annual San Diego-Imperial Council Scouting for Food campaign during this month of March, http://www.sdicbsa.org/Activities/ScoutingForFood/
At the March 14 and 21 troop meetings, door hangars will be distributed for you to solicit donations in your neighborhood.  Write a date on the door hangar that you will collect the food, and possibly customize with a friendly note from “your neighborhood scout”, then collect on the specified pick up date.
Count how many items you collected, then bring your collected food items to the troop meeting on Tuesday April 4.  All scouts who participate will received a Scouting For Food patch, but any scout who personally collects at least 100 units of food will earn a special Centennial Scouting for Food patch.  All food collected will be brought to the St John Food Pantry.  What a great opportunity to put into action being “brave”, “helpful”, "friendly", and “kind”.
