We are starting from Agnew Meadow and will go to 1000 Isle Lake the first day. We are following the River trail along the San Joaquin river and going from 8’000 ft to 9’816. This 7.5 mile trail is described as strenuous and we have to reach our campsite at 1000 Isle Lake – no camping sites along the way. Our return will be 10-13 miles depending upon side trips.

The requirements for this backpacking trip are enumerated below and are NOT optional.

1. UNIT backpack in Mataguay w/ Mr. Liber

2. San Gorgonio trip w/ Mr. Pain.

3. Full pack hike to Cowle’s Peak w/ Mr. Yokoyama

4. Payment of $25.00 by 01/21/08.

In the past we have taken Scouts 12 years and older on this trip. Eleven year olds can participate only if a parent is also backpacking.
