Troop 776 is a member of the Pacific Coast District, San Diego - Imperial Council, Boy Scouts of America. We are chartered by St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish and hold our Monday evening meetings in a building to the south of the church (1001 Encinitas Blvd, Encinitas, California). Our Troop serves over 70 young men in Encinitas, Carlsbad, La Costa, Leucadia and Cardiff. We have 30+ registered and trained adult leaders and a strong group of very supportive parents.

Troop 776 is a "boy-led troop," which means the Scouts run the show. They choose and plan their activities and outings, run their own troop meetings, cook for themselves, and train younger Scouts in camping and leadership skills. They learn by doing, following the traditional patrol method established over 100 years ago. Our troop has an active program that combines advancement and outdoor activities. Recent treks include campouts at the Mataguay Scout Ranch, Joshua Tree, Anza Borrego, San Clemente and Catalina Islands, the Colorado River, Camp Pendleton, the Grand Canyon, Zion Canyon, Philmont Scout Ranch and San Jacinto.
We are proud of the 6 young men who accomplished their
Eagle Scout Rank
during 2010 and look forward to all of our current scouts
achieving this milestone.
