Welcome to Troop 776!

Troop 776 is located in Encinitas and meets at St. John the Evangelist Church on Encinitas Blvd. Our Scouts reside in the surrounding communities of Encinitas, Leucadia, Cardiff, Carlsbad, Olivenhain and San Marcos.

If you are looking for a troop to join, please visit us during any of our  regular troop meeting times or contact us for more information. Click on the Boy Scout Parent Handbook attachment (below) for an overview of our Troop. 

Our troop meets on Tuesday evenings. Here is our normal Tuesday night monthly meeting schedule:

1st Tuesday of the month: Regular Troop Meeting(7PM)
2nd Tuesday of the month: Regular Troop Meeting(7PM), Committee Meeting (7PM)
3rd Tuesday of the month: Regular Troop Meeting (7PM), Board of Review (BOR)(7PM)
4th Tuesday of the month: No Regular Troop Meeting but instead there is a Patrol Leader's Council Meeting (7PM) & Scoutmaster Meeting (6PM)

If there is a 5th Tuesday in a month, the troop does not meet that day.

Thank you to all the Troop 776 Scouts who assisted with St. John's ground-breaking ceremony. Your presence was noticed and appreciated. You made Troop 776 proud and are great role models on giving back to your community!

Scout Check List

1) New Scouts, earn your Scout Rank; Scout Rank is recommended to start merit badges and go to summer camp

2) If you have earned your Totin Chip or your Fireman Chit, please advise our Rank Advancement Chair to get it recorded in out Troop/Council records.

3) Complete you Cyber Chip (Parents have to sign papwerwork too); required annually and specifically for some ranks. Cyber Chip has to be up-to-date in order to have a Board of Review

4) Summer is almost here, don't put those signed & completed merit badge blue cards in a drawer; turn them in at the next meeting.Make a copy or take a picture before submitting. All Blue cards have to be fully completed and have all 4 required signatures in order to be processed/awarded.

5) Annual BSA Medical Forms (ABC) are required for participation in all Scout activities and summer camps (ASM & Scouts)

6) Want a leadership position in the troop? Let our new SPL Marcelo Rull know. (There are many options)

7) Record your Community Service hours in your Scout Handbook; be sure to sign in at events too

6/5 LAST Troop Meeting of school year, Scout Elections & Potluck

Our LAST Troop Meeting of the school year is Tue, 6/5 with New Patrol Elections and a Troop Potluck. 7-8PM

If interested in a Troop Leadership Position, please let Marcelo as soon as possible There are lots of positions for Scouts young & old so be sure to let Marcelo know your interested...Roles can be chaplain, historian, quartermaster, Scribe, as well as assistant patrol leaders, patrol leaders and new ASLS. Want more information on a leadership role? Ask Jake or Marcelo

6/3 St. John's Ground Breaking Ceremony Details-Updated!

Our Scout Troop has been invited to assist & participate in the St John’s Ground Breaking Ceremony immediately following the 10:30 mass on Sunday, June 3rd, 2018.
Please register on troop site and wear Class A uniforms.  Scouts needed at the following times:
 10:45 AM Scouts should arrive outside before 11:00. (Gather near the gazebo and we will review our plan)

   11:30 AM Ceremony Begins (at conclusion of 10:30 Mass). Scouts needed to partake in ceremony

6/1 Community Service Hours for Beacon's Beach Clean-up

Troop 776 has voted to adopt Beacon's for a community clean-upproject.  The scouts, family and friends are all invited to help clean the beach. This is clean up #3.  After this clean-up, Troop 776 will have a sign at Beacon's highlighting their efforts. Make a difference in your community, one piece of trash at a time!

A waiver is needed for every partcipant. (? Contact Mr. Titcomb)
