Welcome to Troop 776!

Troop 776 is located in Encinitas and meets at St. John the Evangelist Church on Encinitas Blvd. Our Scouts reside in the surrounding communities of Encinitas, Leucadia, Cardiff, Carlsbad, Olivenhain and San Marcos.

If you are looking for a troop to join, please visit us during any of our  regular troop meeting times or contact us for more information. Click on the Boy Scout Parent Handbook attachment (below) for an overview of our Troop. 

Our troop meets on Tuesday evenings. Here is our normal Tuesday night monthly meeting schedule:

1st Tuesday of the month: Regular Troop Meeting(7PM)
2nd Tuesday of the month: Regular Troop Meeting(7PM), Committee Meeting (7PM)
3rd Tuesday of the month: Regular Troop Meeting (7PM), Board of Review (BOR)(7PM)
4th Tuesday of the month: No Regular Troop Meeting but instead there is a Patrol Leader's Council Meeting (7PM) & Scoutmaster Meeting (6PM)

If there is a 5th Tuesday in a month, the troop does not meet that day.

St. John Fiesta - Summer 2017 - Saturday August 19 & Sunday August 20 

SIGN UP NOW on the troop website for your shifts. If you cannot make your assigned patrol shift, chose another and make a note of it in your registration. Attendance is mandatory!


Wear either Class A or B uniforms.  Food tickets will be given to each scout (at some point during their shift). These hours also count for Community and Christian Service so bring your service hours forms or scout handbook for sign-offs. Thank you!

Saturday, August 19 Merit Badge class and Popcorn Rally

All troop scouts need to sign up for & work a FULL SHIFT at the Fiesta sometime during the 2 days of Aug 19 & 20. That said, you can work your shifts around this great MB opportunity. http://www.sdicbsa.org/Activities/Popcorn/ (link to register for MB class). "By studying salesmanship, Scouts can learn self-confidence, motivation, friendliness, and the persistence necessary to overcome obstacles and solve problems. Sales can offer a challenging and rewarding career for those who enjoy interacting with people from all walks of life."

Alter Servers Still Needed at St. John for the Summer

Scouts who are, or ever were altar servers are needed to step up and serve at St. John's Church over the summer months for both weekend and weekday Masses.  Credit for service hours available. There is a shortage of servers when St. John's school closes. Please help if you can! Contact the church directly if you can help: 760-753-6254
