Welcome to Troop 776!

Troop 776 is located in Encinitas and meets at St. John the Evangelist Church on Encinitas Blvd. Our Scouts reside in the surrounding communities of Encinitas, Leucadia, Cardiff, Carlsbad, Olivenhain and San Marcos.

If you are looking for a troop to join, please visit us during any of our  regular troop meeting times or contact us for more information. Click on the Boy Scout Parent Handbook attachment (below) for an overview of our Troop. 

Our troop meets on Tuesday evenings. Here is our normal Tuesday night monthly meeting schedule:

1st Tuesday of the month: Regular Troop Meeting(7PM)
2nd Tuesday of the month: Regular Troop Meeting(7PM), Committee Meeting (7PM)
3rd Tuesday of the month: Regular Troop Meeting (7PM), Board of Review (BOR)(7PM)
4th Tuesday of the month: No Regular Troop Meeting but instead there is a Patrol Leader's Council Meeting (7PM) & Scoutmaster Meeting (6PM)

If there is a 5th Tuesday in a month, the troop does not meet that day.

Pioneering Campout - Dos Picos Park 2/8-10

Pioneering is a campout that is a huge amount of fun, learning and doing.  Every structure will only be built out of logs and rope.
Location: Dos Picos County Park
Dates: Feb 8-10
Cost: $25/scout
Please register so we have a head count, reservation is based on at least 6 Scouts.

Cardiff Kook Run 2/3 Annual Community Service Event

It is time for our annual commitment to support the Cardiff Kook Run on February 3 by handing out water to the runners. .For a few hours commitment at a popular community event, we are able to help a worthy cause, give back to our community while demonstrating the wonderful values of Scouting . We even receive a donation to the troop, snacks  and commemorative volunteer t-shirt also provided! Yes, you get to enjoy the excitement of the race without running...So, get up early with us (5:45AM) and be done by approximately 9 AM with plenty of time to shower and rest before the Super Bowl.

Families & friends are invited and encouraged to volunteer. Please sign up on website asap, we need a head count. Our target # is 30 people.

Meet at La Paloma by 6AM. Note, you should park no later than 5:45 AM since streets close down for race.

The next Philmont Payment of $435 is now due to BSA Troop 776. Please submit check no later than 1/22 Meeting. Sorry no Paypal available for this.

SHOOTING DAY REQUIREMENTS for the Escondido Fish & Game Club, Sun, Jan 20

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS FOR 1/20 Shooting Day at Escondido Fish & Game Club, 16525 Guejito Road, Escondido, CA 92027

YOU MUST PROVIDE ALL 3 OF THE FOLLOWING FORMS in order to participate. Sorry but for safety reasons, if you do not have signed and completed forms, you will not be able to participate. NO EXCEPTIONS

1) Troop 776 Permission Slip (completed and signed by parents)

2) EFGA Parent Permission Slip (completed and signed by parents)

3) Medical A & B Forms Must be on file with Troop Medical Officer (Be sure your 2019 Medical Insurance Info is up-to-date and it is signed and complete). ?s please contact Pam Wong our Medical Records Coordinator pamela.j.wong@questdiagnostics.com

4) Rifle Shooting Merit Badge pdf is also attached.

Lunch will be provided - no cost to participants.

check-in at 7am , certified safety class at 8am for all, the club breaks the attendees into groups of shooters and they go to the range and shoot in flights, great bbq burgers for lunch .

Faith Con 2/1-2 Balboa

Boy Scout Council along with the Catholic Committee on Scouting is offering their annual retreat overnight called Faith Con. It will be held at Camp Balboa Feb. 1-2 but reservations are needed by Jan 23. Please consider attending this fun short camping trip. You DO NOT need to be Catholic or enrolled in any of the religious emblem programs to participate. See attached flyer
