Welcome to Troop 776!

Troop 776 is located in Encinitas and meets at St. John the Evangelist Church on Encinitas Blvd. Our Scouts reside in the surrounding communities of Encinitas, Leucadia, Cardiff, Carlsbad, Olivenhain and San Marcos.

If you are looking for a troop to join, please visit us during any of our  regular troop meeting times or contact us for more information. Click on the Boy Scout Parent Handbook attachment (below) for an overview of our Troop. 

Our troop meets on Tuesday evenings. Here is our normal Tuesday night monthly meeting schedule:

1st Tuesday of the month: Regular Troop Meeting(7PM)
2nd Tuesday of the month: Regular Troop Meeting(7PM), Committee Meeting (7PM)
3rd Tuesday of the month: Regular Troop Meeting (7PM), Board of Review (BOR)(7PM)
4th Tuesday of the month: No Regular Troop Meeting but instead there is a Patrol Leader's Council Meeting (7PM) & Scoutmaster Meeting (6PM)

If there is a 5th Tuesday in a month, the troop does not meet that day.

10/28-29 YAC Campout (Fiesta Island)

Sailing and Kayaking and/or Camping fun at Youth Aquatic Center (YAC) ! Friends and Family are Welcome! 

Sat and Sun, October 28th-29th from 8am-4pm. YAC, 1750 Fiesta Island Road, San Diego, CA 92109

Come for the whole day, stay and camp, or just stop by whenever.

$10 per person for the day, $15 for staying the night or $35 for the weekend

Pay by check to "Troop 776." Sorry, no online payments available due to the variaion of costs ($10 or $15 or for both, $35).

11/10 Flag Retirement at Genentech

 As part of Veteran's Day Events, we will conduct a flag retirement ceremony at Genentech

event will be from 11AM- 2PM at Genentech -  1 Antibody Way, Oceanside CA 92056

Class A Uniforms; Lunch willl provided to participants.

11/11 Canoeing Merit Badge at YAC

Earn the Canoeing Merit badge in one session with ASM, Andrew Primes. You will learn canoeing strokes, boat handling, safety and self and buddy boat rescue techniques. This is also a requirement for the annual Colorado River canoe trip Nov 17-20. Even if you are not attending the trip this is an easy and fun merit badge. I encourage all to participate.  Best of all it is completely free!

11/12 Colorado River Canoe Trip Shake-out

Colorado River Canoe Trip Shake-out at YAC on 11/12

Shake out for Novemeber Colorado River canoe trip. This is a skills, safety and equipment review that is required for all participants of 11/17 trip. Patrols will also be assigned and patrol planning will also be completed. Please bring a lunch, this is a no cost event.

11/17 Hoover Dam Canoe Trip

 Canoe Trip 11/17- 11/20 at Hoover Dam Launch Site to Willow Beach Marina

There will be two patrols; Advanced with 2 years Colorado RIver Canoeing experience and beginner canoers. Canoeing Merit Badge is required (It will be offered along with shake out a week prior to trip)
